Fortora Fresh Finance for Mac (as of version 1.3.5) is officially compatible with the latest version of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard. This means that our customers should have no problems at all using Fortora Fresh Finance when upgrading their Mac, or purchasing a new one. We are pleased that we are able to support the very latest version of Mac OS X, thus conveying our commitment to our customers and new technologies. Please let us know if you have any comments.

Version 1.3.5 has just been released. Changes in this version are:

1) Duplicate transaction checker now automatically marks duplicate transactions as cleared when importing data from your bank

Now when you download transactions from your bank that already exist in the register, the duplicate transaction feature will automatically mark your existing transactions as cleared, so you don’t have to.

2) Improved CSV import feature

Improved importing of CSV files so that additional CSV types can be handled.

3) Added additional currencies

Added support for additional world currencies.

4) Improved auto complete for category fields in Fortora Fresh Finance for Mac

Now when you enter a category and press the colon (“:”) key, Fortora Fresh Finance for Mac will automatically move the cursor to the end of the inputted text, making it much quicker to enter subcategories.

5) Improved speed

Various parts of the software have been optimized to increase speed, such as when loading the transaction register.

6) Other enhancements and fixes

Additional enhancements and fixes have been made to improve the software.

I am happy to announce version 1.3.4 of Fortora Fresh Finance has been released. Here’s what’s new:

Added CSV Import Feature

You can now import transactions contained within CSV files (comma-separated text files). Some banks export in this format, and also other financial packages (such as portable finance managers) and spreadsheet programs export to this format as well.

Added ‘Find Transactions’ Feature

You can now select the Edit->Find menu option to do an advanced search throughout all your accounts for transactions. You can search things such as amount ranges, dates, memos, categories, and so forth. This is a great addition to the already built-in search bar in the program.

Various Fixes/Enhancements

Other enhancements and fixes have been made to improve the software’s usability.

Version 1.3.1 of Fortora Fresh Finance has been released. Here’s what’s new in this version:

Added duplicate transaction checker to QIF import

This allows for mixing manually inputted and imported transactions without resulting in duplicates when importing QIF files (just like OFX/QFX files and Direct Connect).

Added customizable title to reports

You can now specify a custom title for your reports.

Version 1.3 has been released, here’s what’s new:

Added duplicate transaction checker when importing OFX/QFX/Direct Connect
This allows for mixing manually inputted and automatically imported transactions without resulting in duplicates. For example, you may input a check, or a transaction as you made it, and then download the rest of your transactions from your bank, and the software will now notify you that possible duplicate items exist and ask you to confirm them.

Added additional color to budget progress bars
Orange now means you have reached your budget, red means you have surpassed your budget.

Fixed problem with the software remembering the selected budget date range

Can now double-click on categories in reports to see transaction details/”drill-down” reports
In cash flow reports and income/expense reports you can double-click on the category names to see the actual transactions that make up the reported totals, just like you can do from the budgets screen.

Various enhancements/fixes

Also, version 1.2.9 was released earlier last month, here are the changes:

• Improved speed of payee subtotals in reports.
• Added option to print payee addresses on checks.
• Fixed problem with importing credit card OFX files.

Happy new year! Version 1.2.8 of Fortora Fresh Finance has just been released. Here’s what’s new:

Added Report Templates feature

You can now save your report settings to a template so that you can quickly recall them later.

Added Import Filter training feature

You can now automatically setup your import filters based on your current transaction set.

Can now edit/view transactions from detailed reports

You can double-click on individual transactions in a detailed report to view/edit the transaction’s details.

Added search bar to detailed reports

Now there is a search bar at the top of detailed reports so that you can easily locate individual transactions.

Fixed problem with reconciling transfers

Can now view transactions details in budgets

You can now double-click on an individual budget item (or entire budget) to see the transaction details.

Now can subtotal by payee in reports

When filtering by payee in reports, the report is subtotaled by payee.

Can now automatically include subcategories/subtotal by parent category in reports

Added an option to the reports screen “Include subcategories” which will automatically include the subcategories of a parent category, and will subtotal the report by parent category.

Control+Return activates ‘Add More’ option when adding transactions

I’m happy to announce that version 1.2.7 has just been released. This update adds the following changes:

Added Direct Connect feature

You can now connect directly and securely to financial institutions and download transactions right from within the program. This makes updating your accounts quick and easy.

Added View->Payee Info menu option

You can now view a payee’s information (such as URL, account number, etc.) from the transaction register or payees screen, to help make bill paying easier.

Improved Charts/Graphs

Charts and graphs are now more legible, and now you can click on the individual sections of charts/graphs to see transaction details.

Fortora Fresh Finance version 1.2.6 has been released. Changes in this version are:

Added check printing feature.
You can now print checks directly from Fortora Fresh Finance, making bill paying a breeze. Please read the help manual for instructions.

Improved home screen.
You can now see a summary of the cash flow (income coming in, expenses going out, future items/balance) for the current month. This gives you a quick overview for the entire month in one simple screen.

Added “Next Check Number” option in the number field of the “Add Transaction” window.

Added net worth report.

Added additional data to the budgets screen.

Adjusted file import flow.
Now when importing data from OFX/QFX/QIF files, Fortora Fresh Finance for Windows defaults to your Desktop folder, and Fortora Fresh Finance for Mac defaults to your Home folder. This should make the import process quicker now because you don’t have to manually navigate to the aforementioned folders anymore.

Fixed issue with importing OFX/QFX files in Fortora Fresh Finance for Mac OS X 10.4.

Added “Do not record transaction to account” reminder option.
This option is useful for users who download transaction from their bank, because it prevents duplicate transactions of your bills/recurring deposits. (While Fortora Fresh Finance does prevent duplicate transactions from your bank, it doesn’t work when you mix manually-inputted transactions and imported transactions together.)

Added additional currencies.

As many of you know, we are constantly enhancing our products (especially based on feedback from our valued customers). We take all customer feedback very seriously, and in many cases feedback is scheduled to be implemented in future versions (if we feel the feedback is relevant and fits well with our vision of our products). Fortunately we are lucky to have such great customers who have provided us with a wealth of feedback! We are consistently working hard on implementing this valued feedback. Sometimes you may see your suggestions implemented in the very next update of a product, however sometimes it takes longer before a specific suggestion is implemented.

So I just wanted to let those of you who have made suggestions in the past and haven’t yet seen them implemented, we have not forgotten! Rest assured your feedback is valuable to us, and we take your comments very seriously. And for the rest of our customers, if you ever have any feedback whatsoever (suggestions, comments, bug reports, anything) please never hesitate to let us know, we are very greatful for it. As you may know, we just released version 1.2 of Fortora Fresh Finance for Mac/Windows, which contains OFX/QFX support. I just wanted to let you know that we are continually working hard on also bringing Direct Connect support to our valued customers, and it should be available soon.

For those of you who don’t know, Direct Connect is a part of the OFX technology which allows you to download data directly from your bank (as opposed to the manual export/import process currently used in our products). Direct Connect is offered by many banks (usually at a cost).

So rest assured that we are working hard on this and it should be available soon. Please let us know if you have any comments. Thank you!
